Bastet had other symbols of power also. Bastet had a divine eye in form of the uraeus or serpent of wisdom. She got the eye for defending Ra against Apep.
Some of you may be confused because you thought Horus Bastet's brother's symbol of power was a divine eye. That is true but Horus got the left eye and bastet was awarded with the right eye. In art images of Bastet she is portrayed with a sistrum in one hand and a sack slung over her shoulder. There are many kittens running around her ankles.
